Modification Technician

Department: Mod Shop
Location: Duluth, GA

About the role:

WEG Electric Corp. has a great opportunity for a Modification Technician to join our team in Duluth GA. This role provides in-house modifications to electric motors.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Modify electric motors per customer specification.
  • Produce reports and track activities performed in the Mod shop.
  • Work with visiting engineers and QA personnel to evaluate possible factory issues.
  • Be proficient enough with Word and Excel to produce reports and track activities performed in the Mod shop.
  • Work in conjunction with the warehouse team to insure proper placement of modified motors in inventory.
  • Support the Mod Shop Lead in accomplishing team goals and projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Knowledge / training:

  • Strong knowledge of low voltage AC motors.
  • Ability to handle manual and power tools.
  • Understand and follow safety procedures.
  • Familiar with modification procedures.
  • Familiar with the inventory control system.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong knowledge of industry certification requirements.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.

Experience:

  • 0 - 5 years of related experience.
