Machining Team - Lathe (CNC) 2nd Shift

Location: Minneapolis, MN

 

Electric Machinery is looking for a CNC Lathe Machinist for our 2nd shift(Monday through Friday 3:30 pm to 12:00 am).

Electric Machinery is looking for a motived employee who is aligned with our listed Major Areas of Accountability. We welcome individuals with prior CNC lathe machining experience. We train employees through on the job training, utilizing our Machining Team skills matrix below which allows individuals to progress and grow both professionally and financially through additional training, job experience and performance.

 

Primary Objective of Position:

 The CNC Lathe Machinist must be able to operate our large CNC and manual lathes. Those machines are identified in the machining team skills matrix with an underline. Utilizing manufacturing information, engineering and manufacturing drawings, work instructions, process specifications, or process labor routings you will be part of the operations team with the primary goal of satisfying customer requirements, satisfying quality, on time delivery and operating machines and equipment in a safe and efficient manner. The CNC Lathe operator duties include the operation of CNC and manually operated machining centers, program edits, setting up tooling, and operation of the machine tool. Secondary operations such as deburring and inspection of finished parts, along with moving products to appropriate storage locations and completion of production routings.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift Twenty-five (25) pounds unassisted.

Some tasks may require lifting in excess of Forty-five (45) pounds.

Repeated lifting of material may also be required.

Several tasks require to work in leaning over, extended back position repeatedly, occasionally tight spaces, squatting, and kneeling.

Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.

Work on Ladders and Platforms.

Work at Heights.

Several tasks require the following hand and arm motions repeatedly; pounding with various weight hammers, squeezing or grasping hand tools, prying with various sizes of weight bars, twisting motions.

Must be able to read work orders, prints and specifications.

 

Education: 2 year technical degree in CNC machining or equivalent work experience with a High School diploma or General Education Development (G.E.D) diploma 

 

Experience: 2+ years’ experience operating CNC lathes working with large production parts. 

 

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota 

 

Hours: 2nd shift: 3:30pm – 12:00am

 

Pay:   $20 - $32/Hour, depending on experience/skills, and machining team skill matrix
