About the Role: Deliver Impactful Solutions as our Project Manager II

As our Project Manager II, you'll independently manage multiple customer orders and projects from inception through final closeout, applying established project management expertise while continuing to develop advanced skills. In this role, you'll serve as the primary point of contact for clients on your assigned projects, building and maintaining strategic relationships while ensuring exceptional project outcomes that advance both customer satisfaction and our company's market position.

Primary Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution
- Serve as primary customer liaison throughout the full order and project lifecycle for multiple concurrent projects
- Lead handover with the sales team, conduct kickoff meetings, and establish clear project objectives, responsibilities, and communication plans
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and execution plans aligned with contractual requirements
- Manage project scope, process change orders, ensure proper approvals, and monitor customer requests
- Apply established project management methodologies to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery
- Escalate issues appropriately and support resolution activities with cross-functional teams
- Conduct customer meetings, site visits, and project reviews as required
- Resource & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate activities across manufacturing, engineering, procurement, logistics, field service, vendors, and customers to support project execution
- Manage third-party vendors, consultants, and contractors as required
- Provide regular project status updates to leadership, including schedule performance, risks, financial status, and corrective actions
- Ensure projects comply with internal procedures, customer requirements, and applicable quality standards including NEMA, IEC, IEEE, and UL
Financial Oversight
- Perform regular progress and financial reviews, monitoring project performance against approved budgets and forecasts
- Ensure timely revenue recognition, milestone billing, and payment tracking
- Safeguard the company's commercial and contractual interests and ensure adherence to approved project scope
- Manage logistics coordination and shipping requirements
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain accurate project documentation, records, and communication logs in accordance with company procedures
- Support root cause investigations, corrective actions, lessons learned activities, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Identify opportunities to improve project execution processes, communication methods, and operational efficiency
- Participate in audits, process reviews, and quality initiatives as required
- Other duties may be assigned by management to meet business needs
Knowledge & Skills
Technical Expertise
- Knowledge of electrical industrial systems, power electronics, rotating machines, motors, generators, and related applications
- Knowledge of applicable industry standards including NEMA, IEC, IEEE, and UL certifications
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills and SAP/ERP experience preferred
- Understanding of project management methodologies and project lifecycle management principles
Leadership & Communication
- Strong stakeholder management capabilities across customers, partners, and internal teams
- Effective verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to create professional documentation independently
- Demonstrated conflict resolution and negotiation skills in technical project environments
- Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple concurrent projects
Strategic Thinking
- Ability to identify and mitigate project risks while recognizing opportunities
- Experience implementing process improvements for project efficiency
- Track record of delivering technical projects on time and within budget constraints
Experience & Education
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Business, Project Management, or related discipline preferred. Equivalent combinations of technical education, certifications, and directly related experience may be considered.
Experience:
- Typically 5+ years of relevant experience, with dedicated project management experience in the electrical, rotating equipment, energy, manufacturing, or capital projects industries
- Prior experience managing customer-facing technical projects preferred
Certifications:
- PMP certification preferred
- Project management training or equivalent experience preferred
Working Conditions
Travel
- Approximately 20% travel, including customer sites, manufacturing locations, and vendor locations as required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in office, manufacturing, and customer site environments. Occasional lifting, climbing, walking, and use of required personal protective equipment may be necessary depending on project requirements.
