Business Development Manager - HVC Pumps

Department: Automation OEM Manager
Location: Duluth, GA

About the role:
WEG Electric Corp. is hiring a Business Development Manager, OEM Automation – HVAC & Pumps. This person is responsible for growing business with OEMs, package builders, and contractors supporting pump, HVAC, and fluid-handling applications. This role focuses on delivering automation solutions that improve system performance, energy efficiency, and operational reliability for customers nationwide. Responsibilities include developing relationships with OEMs involved in pumps, pump skids, and packaged systems, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units (AHUs), ventilation systems, and data center cooling applications (CRAC, CRAH, CDU). Candidates should possess industry knowledge, established customer relationships, and an understanding of pump, HVAC, and fluid-handling applications.

Candidates should reside in or near Philadelphia, PA, or another major airport supporting the region.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Meet sales goals for VFDs, soft starters, industrial controls, and UL508A panels.
  • Generate sales leads, develop sales opportunities, and close new business.
  • Qualify leads to identify viable opportunities and prioritize efforts.
  • Obtain specifications of WEG Automation products on the target customer's approved vendor list.
  • Visit customer sites to review technical challenges and new applications for WEG Automation products.
  • Identify new opportunities, technology requirements, and other customer needs to bring WEG internal experts to validate and implement new business.
  • Coordinate with WEG Area Managers, Territory Account Managers, and Automation Sales Engineers to gain new business.
  • Develop and manage assigned market Automation pipeline opportunities and work with non-direct reports to close business.
  • Coordinate with Product Managers, Application Engineers, and Service personnel to define custom product solutions and services needed to support converted business.
  • Analyze financial data and sales metrics to track progress, identify areas for improvement, and forecast future revenue.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and communicate progress to stakeholders

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and/or in Business or similar field or equivalent relevant work experience.

Experience & Knowledge:

  • 5+ years of business development, technical sales, application engineering, or account management experience in industrial automation, drives, controls, OEM manufacturing, or related industry.
  • Demonstrated success in developing new business and growing relationships with OEM customers.
  • Strong knowledge of VFDs, soft starters, industrial controls, motor control, and automation solutions.
  • Understanding of industrial control panels (UL508A), PLC-based systems, and systems integration.
  • Ability to work with engineering, operations, and procurement teams to develop and close complex opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of the assigned vertical market, including key OEMs, applications, buying drivers, and industry trends.
  • Established industry relationships within the assigned vertical market are strongly preferred.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working with or selling to pump, HVAC, fluid-handling, and air movement equipment manufacturers.
  • Familiarity with cooling, ventilation, or water movement applications.
  • Established industry relationships preferred.
