About the role:
WEG Electric Corp. has an excellent opportunity for a Sales Specialist – Wind Turbines. The Sales Specialist participate in the sales and business development efforts for WEG's Onshore Wind Turbines in North America by partnering up with outside sales to work with customers, establish strong trust-based relationships, assure a smooth sales process with clear communication, timely answers and follow-up, and superior customer experience. Will act as the main point of contact inside WEG for customer demands and needs. Will coordinate actions with supporting departments. Works to be the true customer voice inside WEG.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prospecting and starting new contacts and building strong trust-based relationships with customers, covering calls, follow-ups, in-person visits (travel), presentations, commercial/technical discussions, negotiations, et cetera, both in-person and virtual.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities, prioritizing the ones with highest potential, then establishing and implementing an action plan for those.
- Accompany customers through pre-tender and consultations discussions, site visits, technical and commercial support throughout the project development process.
- Timely prepare and issue proposals, including requesting cost calculation to supporting departments, with the support of management for price setting.
- Timely requesting information and documention from supporting departments, such as Site Assessment, Product Engineering, O&M, Legal, others.
- Keep organized record of customer interactions, and bring true and transparent customer feedback about WEG and its products.
- Maintain mailbox and phone line, answering requests in a timely manner.
- Maintain a good understanding of the market (such as price, technology, commercial conditions, benchmarking, customers needs and pain points, trends, opportunities, threats, et cetera), communicating areas concerned and define actions.
- Participating in events, such as conferences, trade shows, fairs, exhibitions, et cetera.
- Manages own tasks with limited assistance.
- Participates in special projects as determined by management, and provides status of ongoing & future projects.
- Practice WEG's culture of accountability, feedback and team work.
- Responsible to comply with all company and departmental procedures, while making suggestions for productivity, efficiency and quality improvements, and implementing or coordinating the implementation of those.
- 20-50% travel
- Responsible to continue to grow and update in their knowledge of WEG products and the market to quickly and confidently support customers and bring valuable market insights.
Education:
A degree in a directly relevant field is preferred, such as business administration or engineering. MBA/Master is a plus.
Knowledge / training:
- Strong sales & business development acumen.
- Good understanding of industry trends, market forces, and customer (internal & external) expectations.
- Good product knowledge and applications
- Proficiency with the product specifications
- Phone, mail and in-person etiquette for highly-professional customer interaction
- Good presentation and public speaking skills.
- Complete understanding of supporting department responsibilities.
- Good skills with Salesforce and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience:
- At least 2+ years’ experience in the U.S. renewables sector (preferably in onshore wind), on a commercial role.
- Strong knowledge of how the sector operates.
- Good understanding of onshore wind market.
- Experience in deal origination, negotiating and signing Turbine Supply and O&M Service Agreement are a plus.
- Experience in project development, financing and project management are a plus.
